Friends and Water Slides

Two days ago was Thursday, 21 March, which is is kinda a big deal down here. It's Human Rights Day and that means public holiday, which means no school (Yay!)
So my friend, her family and I all thought that it be fun to go to uShaka. For those who don't know, uShaka is a big water park, marine world and shopping mall, all rolled into one. It's actually really nice even if it might not sound like it...
Well anyway, going on a public holiday was not the brightest idea, in hindsight. When we got there it was packed. Honestly, it was madness. First we couldn't find anywhere to park, so Beth, her mom and I got out with half the bags, leaving Beth's dad and Liam (her twin brother) to find a parking. Then we wandered around the shops for a bit and Beth and I stopped at the best shop there, the fudge shop. Yeah, I know amazing, right? They have all these different flavours and... Wait, that got me off topic...
Sorry, so after the shops we met the guys at the entrance where we paid and got the band things the put on your arm. Basically after that we went in, brought lockers, to keep our stuff in while we went on the rides, and I sent ten minutes fighting with my bag trying to get it in the idiotically small locker. Beth and I headed for the Duzi, and waited in a really long line but I love that ride so it was worth it. We met up with Liam again after that and went on a couple more rides with him, even the new one which was really awesome. At like half past two, Beth's mom wanted to try the new ride and one of the cool things about the design is you can watch people as they go down, so Beth and I took our positions and pretended to be sport commentators at  the first ever, "uShaka Water Slide Star."
Yup, it was my idea, I'm kinda a weirdo but it was a lot of fun even if the people around us gave us funny looks...
We went to the marine world later and that, as always, was amazing. I have some really cool pics that I'll put at the bottom. The jelly fish are always my favourite, looking at their eggs and the little baby ones... so cute. Beth loves the sea horses and their little babies.
Later we got dinner and I stayed the night at Beth's. We spent most of the night watching "Stardust" because we both love that movie   :)   and most of Friday (it was a long weekend) playing computer games and watching the Lion King, also an awesome movie.

So that's how I spent my public holiday and I must say it was wonderfully, amazingly, awesome...
